The Museo del Paesaggio aims to enhance the artistic heritage which has sedimented along the time through a unique source of inspiration: the Maggiore Lake territory from the mountains to the plain. Founded in Pallanza in 1909 by Antonio Massara and the association "Pro Verbano" with the name of 'Museo Storico del Verbano e delle Valli adiacenti'(later called, in 1914, 'Museo del Paesaggio') it is the most long-lived and prestigious cultural institution of the Piedmont side of Maggiore Lake. Placed in a territorial context touched for a long time by many Grand Tours through the Alps, it doesn't only collect artworks, but also gathers an "inheritance of affections", together with a special way of living nature, environment and tourism. That's why it stands as a hub for local and national multidisciplinary events.
