Partnership between the Museo del Paesaggio
and the Banca di Intra non-profit foundation

The Museo del Paesaggio has entered into a partnership with the Banca di Intra non-profit foundation with a view to implementing projects to monitor and highlight the heritage of the Verbano Cusio Ossola area (Read press release of 15 January 2008 – Italian). The first concrete result of the partnership is the new heating system which has been installed in Palazzo Viani-Dugnani, where the Museum has historically been located. This major, long-awaited improvement will enable the Museum to stay open to the public all year (Read press release of 22 February 2008 – Italian).

• To promote knowledge of the heritage of our area: two research projects, each to be followed by a publication, on 15th century frescoes in the Lake Orta area and on the wayside shrines of the Ossola valleys;
• To promote an understanding of the landscape: highlighting three viewpoints in the VCO province, in the Lake Maggiore area in particular;
• To restore traditional architecture: a census of rural buildings in the province and a pilot scheme for their restoration, using the experience of similar projects performed on a national scale.
